Cruising Archaeology II: Eurotrash

Cruising Archaeology II: Eurotrash is the tenth publication produced by SMUT Press. Building on the success of the first edition, the project expands its archaeological focus across cruising sites in Berlin, Athens, Dublin, Barcelona, and Paris. The featured spaces — from woodlands and public toilets to palatial gardens, sex clubs, and beaches — reflect the inventive, site-responsive forms cruising takes within urban infrastructure and natural landscapes.

As with the first edition, the book combines scans of collected objects with essays that contextualise and historicise cruising’s material traces. Contributors include Marc Svensson of You Are Loved and Mati Klitgård of Gay Consent.Lab, who discuss chemsex, intimacy, and consent in queer life. Additional texts by Stav B, Jordan Tannahill, Prem Sahib, and João Florêncio explore themes of lesbian erasure, fantasy, digital mediation, empire, hauntology, and decay. The publication retains the original pocket-sized paperback format, designed by John Philip Sage.
