Shirley Tse: Stakeholders, Hong Kong in Venice

The catalogue was published on occasion of Shirley Tse’s solo exhibition for the Venice Biennale of 2019; ‘Shirley Tse: Stakeholders, Hong Kong in Venice’. The exhibition was curated by independent curator Christina Li and showcases sculptures made from both ‘raw and post-industrial materials’ with ‘juxtaposing distinct techniques’ that tackle and explore social, philosophical, and political issues. The catalogue includes essays by Christina Li, Miwon Kwon, and Evelyn Char, photographic reproduction of the featured artwork, a conversation transcript between Shirley Tse and Chris Kraus, some archival material, and the artist’s biography.
