Adama Keïta: Poetic Aspects of (un)learning
Poetic aspects of — [ un ] learning is an occasional publication that serves as a record of the courses given by Adama Keïta at the Beaux-Arts of Paris for Julien Creuzet’s students.
Coming from a desire to share widely, this series of booklets serves as both an archive and a support material. In her teaching practice, Adama Keïta makes a crossover between her research interests, artistic practices and analysis, while encouraging learners to be proactive by inserting different intermittent reflections such as mind mapping, free writing and prompt thinking.
This first edition entitled « Sonic infrastructure » explores sound as a framework in artistic practices .
Originally, this course articulated as a practice lab was made possible thanks to the invitation of Christophe Chassol.
During this course Adama shared text resources, manifested a listening session of Primordial Soup by Phoebe Collings-James, and a screening of Pawòl Sé Van by Minia Biabiany. All of this with a mind mapping workshop.
Whilst exploring the concept of sonic infrastructure at its core and its role in the context of artistic practices; together they acknowledged sound and its extensions as a portal but also as an element of translation and common understanding. Also, accompanied by Chassol playing Eugène Mona’s songs, Adama read the wise and assertive letter Suzanne Roussi Césaire wrote in 1943 to the Pétainiste regime in response to the censure of the publication Tropiques.
