Davide Tocco: Utopie Dattilotessili

Utopie dattilotessili is a publishing project born from the collaboration between Sardinian artist Davide Tocco and Oreri—Iniziativa Editoriale. The book, published in a bilingual edition (Italian and English), collects reproductions of 100 typewritten graphic works by Davide Tocco, created between 2017 and 2022, on his Olivetti Dora. In addition to the reproduced works, the book includes a conversation between Fiammetta Pani and Ilaria Pisanu, an essay by Wu Ming 1, a glossary edited by Federico Antonini and Marta Veronese, and a conversation between the publishers (Luca Carboni and Andrea Garcés) and Davide Tocco. This first edition of 500 copies was produced entirely without the use of computers or graphic design software. The works were reproduced using only the scanning plate and color separation software of a Riso MF9350 digital duplicator and printed in red and black, the same colors as the typewriter ribbons. The texts and paratexts were entirely typewritten and reproduced using the same system.
