Joel Harder: Sensitive Study of the St. Privat’s Disapearing Gay Cruising…

Artifact resulting from the multisensory project “Battue en cours” started in the fall of 2020, the edition Sensitive study of the disappearance of the gay drag spot in the Ripisylve of St Privat is a photographic testimony of the progressive disintegration of a place of anonymous desire in the south of the Ardèche in the process of being redeveloped. A methodical survey that archives and classifies elements buried in the earth, at the foot of trees where an obsolete form of love manifests itself in the era of dematerialized dating applications. Theoretical texts support the off-camera photographs and clarify the silent tensions between the various actors who seek to exercise their authority over the territory, whether they are institutional, natural or private.
