Miray van der Bend: Sheep Meadow

My work stems from a compulsion, an emotion within me that I explore through the act of creation. I find it confronting, yet necessary, to dare to look at myself- what is happening inside. I see creation as a personal growth journey, and I appreciate that art can mean that for me. Ultimately, laying bare such feelings to the outside world, so that others can also identify with them, is what I consider the purpose of my work.
