with a presentation with editor Laurens Otto, guest editors Kyveli Mavrokordopoulou and Giacomo Mercuriali, and designers D-E-A-L
Sunday June 20, 4pmRESOLUTION is a yearly print magazine that explores the impact of the digital image. Its first issue ‘Hot Pictures’ looks at how digital images offer novel ways to depict environmental destruction and climate change, while their production and circulation simultaneously pollutes and heats up the planet.
From 17 to 20 June, mesmerizing toxic clouds are displayed in a continuously changing configuration on nine windows of San Serriffe in Amsterdam. The initial set is taken from ‘Hot Pictures’, to which anyone can add their own by uploading them the cloud, via are.na.
On Sunday 20 June at 4 pm, RESOLUTION editor Laurens Otto, guest editors Kyveli Mavrokordopoulou and Giacomo Mercuriali, and graphic designer Victor Coupaud from D-E-A-L will present the issue ‘Hot Pictures’. How do digital images format the environment? Can we assess the environmental effects of screens and cameras? How to bring this to print?
